Setup Steps:
  1. Create a free account at plex.tv.
  2. Send your Plex username/email to Charlie to receive an invite to the Magee Plex library.
  3. Accept the invite in your email or at app.plex.tv.
  4. Launch the Plex app on any TV or device and pin Films, TV, and Anime.

How to Request Content:
  1. Open the Seerr Portal.
  2. Sign in with your existing Jellyfin username and password.
  3. Search for any movie or series and tap Request. You'll receive an alert once it is downloaded and ready to watch.

When outside the home network, make sure you enter the full secure URL including https://:

During video playback in Jellyfin or Swiftfin, tap the Gear icon.

If streaming on slower mobile data, switch Quality from Auto to 1080p - 10 Mbps or 720p - 4 Mbps to prevent stuttering.

Audio & Subtitles

Jellyfin supports full subtitle selection (including forced subtitles for foreign dialogue) and multiple audio tracks (e.g. Japanese audio + English subtitles for anime).

I see a "Cannot connect to server" error. What should I check?

Verify the server URL has no spaces or typos: https://mageemedia.tailcc77cc.ts.net. Be sure to include the full prefix https://.

If accessing over mobile data or external Wi-Fi, ensure your device can reach the server endpoint or that your Tailscale connection is active.

How do I get an account?

Contact Charlie directly with your preferred username. An account will be provisioned giving you seamless unified access across Jellyfin, Seerr, and Immich.

For Plex, provide your registered Plex account email so an invite to the Magee Plex library can be sent.

Video is buffering or stuttering on iPhone or Apple TV?

Download Swiftfin from the App Store instead of the default Jellyfin mobile app.

Swiftfin is built specifically for Apple platforms and uses native Apple AVPlayer and VLC rendering engines for buttery-smooth hardware-accelerated 4K HDR playback and subtitle rendering.

Can I download movies to watch offline during flights or road trips?

Yes! The official Jellyfin mobile app supports offline syncing for movies and TV episodes directly to your smartphone or tablet storage.

Simply navigate to any movie or episode, tap the three dots icon (⋮), and select Download while connected to Wi-Fi before traveling.

How do media requests work in Seerr?

Log into Seerr with your Jellyfin credentials. Search for any released or upcoming movie or show and click Request.

The server automates discovery, downloading, and sorting into the appropriate library. Once processed, it will immediately appear on your Jellyfin home screen.
